This morning I stumbled upon this on the WTF creative blog, and it immediately blew me away, just had to share with you.

Insect sculptures by Edouard Martinet

These perfectly assembled sculptures by French artist Edouard Martinet are amazing. Made from scrap metals, bits of cars, motorbikes, bicycles, typewriters and anything else that fits the right shape to form each body part. FALLing in love with your home

                                                       Interior decorating
After a long day at work, a busy, clustered home is not exactly what you want to get back to. If you're anything like me, you'd want to walk into a place that feels peaceful — a place to recharge, restore and relax. It's one thing to create a space that is beautiful, but it's another thing to create a space that can make you feel calm and at peace with the world, which allows you to immediately sink into rest mode.

Well, We cant replace every item that screams at us when we get home.....coz we might need it on an exciting day. Instead, we can just push it in the back, against a calm background, the contrast will be good for the room.

Color and symmetry are key to creating a comfortable space. The lamps in this picture are a perfect example. Also, the way in which the furniture is arranged is simple and symmetrical.

 Making use of the architecture would also be helpful. So often, people ignore the architraves, fire places or even windows in the room and concentrate on putting accessories on wall. A good balance between the architecture in the room and the additional décor could make all the difference in the world.

Rendered inspiration

Hi everyone....

Here are some ideas for interior décor for an open plan house.

 

Here's a kitchen, lounge and dining all in one space, with just different floor levels and colors to define them,  

 

  "why have one color when you can have both?'

Who knew orange and green would blend so well?  I'm glad I used just the right amount of green, because its so easy to over do it when it comes to the use of different colors to define spaces. And also the green couch creates a good contrast with the orange, yet a match for the green on the dining wall.  Key is to keep the room balanced.

To me, Ralph Waldo Emerson was so right, he might not have been talking about art, but it has helped me get better at  expressing my ideas. Best way to reflect is to go back where it all started; my very first painting years ago.. It was a dolphin I did it from the streets of Livingstone. So small and simple, yet it was a stating point of my persistence to get better at expressing myself.

color helps us express ourselves, it helps us live life in full color. Also, I like to believe, a creative mind thinks in color. 

Here are some colors that particularly inspired me, and I might just make something with a bit of each. It could be anything, an interior view, piece of art, or clothing.....yet to decide. most, if not all  them are warm autumn colors, coz I  feel there's still more to enjoy this season, we've only just began. :)

Autumn is here..... the heat, dust and wind all working against your white flared dress.
but that's not me. I love autumn...all the leaves are a great color, warm and crisp. while everyone is complaining bout the heat, I thought I might bring some cheer by using some of our autumn colors in my project.

still transforming the lounge to a more cozy space. Autumn colors are distributed all over the room, from the light copper pendant lights, to the rich brown rug. my guilty pleasure? the red stools. :)

my first post, on my first blog......
pretty ordinary day, I'd say, apart from maybe one awkward moment on the bus when a very drunk guy thought it ok to sleep on my shoulder... #very disturbing, but I got where he was coming from (or atleast my nose detected it) it was the morning after a series of bad decisions. so....yeah, *shrug* 
in my head....today is another perfect day to make myself better at what I love doing : creating interiors. project of the day? turning this lounge I had done into a more homely one.
